Non fling chain lube

These are both a fail. The Castrol is useless - most ends up on the back wheel, not the chain. The Penrite 10 Tenths is better, but still gets on the wheel.

I'm trying to find something to use in winter when the roads are wet. My normal chain lube is some magical Du Pont stuff that never leaves marks on the wheel, but doesn't stop rust if the chain gets wet.

I folks after some input, I currently own a Bmw Sertao. Its a great bike for on and off road, but I only way 60kg so its a bit of a lump to chuck about. Thinking of selling and getting something that is lighter, still with a good fuel size tank and fun on and off road. Bmw is worth about $7000 to $8000, so don't wish to spend more preferably less.

Engine over heating on Honda nss 250 scotter

Bloody norah Honda temp guage went of the clock just doing my pavement slog. only 1 street

checked radiator got some antifrezze coolant. checked rad it was cool even with guage of the clock.

So i took out the themostat . then started it up tryed putting in the mixture bloody tricky

as hose is long way back. anyways bike still geting hot not so bad know but flowing out over flow onto engine .i pissed about trying swezze hoses get air out . so much new coolent on the ground what a mess and waste money. pour slowly with engine on and it quicky spurts back up after few mins .

think i get hose and attach to over flow pipe other side the filling spout. least wont all go ground again

any ideas freaked out thinking must be cracked head. but if i use hose it rule that out . as present carb in the way seeing where over flow pipe goes. seems be downbase cyclinder. engine cyclinder leans foward .

any help please . rode around block was leaking bits on the footpath steam was coming from engine where coolant was over flowing onto it.

Hi from Blenheim! - I've always been pretty keen on the whole 2 wheel thing,
rode a couple of mate's farm bikes occasionally when I was a teen and my old
man has been riding for the last 30 odd years on and off so it made sense that
I would eventually get into it myself but still a novice 100%.

26 years old, just got my learners in the last couple of weeks and bought a
2015 Yamaha R3 to kick things off - really pleased with the bike so far!
Really working at my own pace right now getting comfortable on the bike and road
so in no rush to get anywhere fast. Looking forward to doing the Bronze course later this year.

Just riding to work at the moment (very short urban ride) which has made everyday far more
enjoyable but looking forward to getting out and enjoying some of NZ's roads on 2 wheels.

I really joined this forum to learn a bit although from my lurking, I've found
there is plenty of advice to be taken with a grain of salt around here.
Always looking to up skill and learn a few tricks to make things safer, easier and more comfortable.

That pretty much sums it up for now... looking forward to getting out there!

We've got the season finale coming up at the end of July with the prestigious Suzuka 8hr which I'm keen as for!

I usually stream the full race start to finish with some other mates and a few cartons of booze. Anyone else keen for this sort of thing?

Sometimes it seems the universe wants to kill me

In three days, four sketchy incidences. First a found wheel skip going up a hil,l slightly wet with tar seal patches. Found skipped on a patch that would have possibly been an off into the bank and I'm thinking something broken. But it passed in a split second and all was well. The second was in the lane split where two cars dam near hit each others (as I was attempting to split). I pulled back, they swayed in and as they went out I went through. But that same day on the way home was worse. In front of me a 4wd kind of drifted right. I started to back off then he/she swerved violently back onto the road. There is a concrete divider there due to the new highway construction. If they had hit it on their right they would have swerved in on my. I saw it all play out in my head as I rode on (3rd time in one day the universe is trying to kill me).

So I thought about it and one thing was clear to me above the others. I have closed my following distance to much. I am often in 1.2 seconds verses 2 seconds so I need to sit back a bit more (when not passing). I took notice of my distance the next day all seemed of. The following day riding a test bike with ABS (first time using ABS) going into town another massive lane swerver! Right in front of me. I felt the flutter just for a moment in the breaks as ABS hit. I'd have been ok either way but again my distance is close. I get away with that 1.2 most of the time due to luck and attention. Attention mind is simply not the same all the time and luck well... long may it last. That 3rd one mind the truck. That one would has hit me hard likely into the traffic on the inside line. I was that bit close and the truck barely missed a concrete barrier between lanes. I didn't detect it soon enough. Looking back the signs started a good second sooner and I know the area so generally I'd have noticed and back up sooner (looked behind etc got ready to avoid). This time I was just a bit distracted and stayed to close.

Still I am here so the universe must love me. For now. Because luck it seems at times is looking after me more than I am.
